How to Promote your Site with a Social Bookmarking Tool

How to Promote your Site with a Social Bookmarking Tool

A seasoned Internet Marketer has used just about  tool and software there is, including a social bookmarking tool.

What is Social Bookmarking?

For anyone just starting out in the ever dynamic world of internet marketing, there are a lot of avenues that one can take to promote sites, expand the network, and distribute content. There are so many tools that offer fast and easy website promotion, social bookmarking and SEO strategies.

But the sad thing is that, not all of them work. Most of the time, even with paid services and products, it’s still a trial and error experiment. It’s important to find the one that does work for you – and without a doubt, a social bookmarking tool can really leverage your sites and gain visibility, not only with the search engines, but with the type of audience you want to attract.

Why Use Social Bookmarking Tools?

Getting backlinks is very important in driving traffic to your site and making a name for yourself. That is, of course, when you know how to use this strategy effectively.

Then again, here are the great things about a social bookmarking tool:

  • Loads of backlinks are generated from some of the best social networking sites like Facebook, Digg, Technorati, and Twitter.
  • Targeted traffic generation is slowly going to trickle to your site and building up over time. People interested in your story, as they see it shared, posted and featured on their social networks, are going to click on your link and make for potential conversions.
  • Get indexed by Google and other search engines in just minutes as you are social bookmarking articles linked to your site, people looking for the information you provide are going to see it in their search results.

How Do You Use a Social Bookmarking Tool?

It’s fairly easy getting started out on your first social bookmarking venture. Keep in mind that you have to invest your time into this to be able to use it to leverage your sites, unless you have a really cool social bookmarking tool.

  1. Create an account on social bookmarking sites of your choice. Facebook and Twitter are the biggest names, but LinkedIn, Stumbleupon, Tumblr, Delicious, and Digg are also worth your time.
  2. Spend a small amount of time everyday on your account and make regular contributions, because they do work and they count.
  3. Be open and accessible, polite, helpful, and simply be yourself. People will know if they’re dealing with a genuine human being.
  4. Don’t forget to link to your social media profiles in your sites, blogs, even email signatures so people know where to find you and know more about you and your products.
  5. Find, follow and network with people who share your interests and display the desire to interact and communicate. Working with kindred spirits makes it even more worthwhile. You will then be using a social bookmarking tool to its full potential.

I use a tribe to help me to build my social bookmarks.  It saves me a lot of time and it’s very effective.  Imagine posting a piece of content on your blog and instead of just you going and social bookmarking it, 100 of your friends bookmarked it for you as well!

    • Thanks, David. I have heard of Socialadr, but have never used it, so I wouldn’t be able to compare. If you check Tribepro out, you’ll have to let me know! Thanks for stopping by.
