6 Steps to Building Your Personal Brand

6 Steps to Building Your Personal Brand

When building your personal brand, there are some things you want to make sure you keep in mind.  Your personal brand is extremely important whether it’s with your blog or on other social media sites, such as Facebook.  Here is a helpful list of six steps to building your personal brand.

1. Discover Your Passion, Your Purpose, and Build Your Personal Brand Around It

Building your personal brand around your passion is one of the most rewarding things you can do. If your brand is built around your passion, you will enjoy what you are doing. Your passion is what you love doing, and will make work enjoyable. So make sure and take time to discover what it is you love doing and how you can incorporate it into your brand.

2. Find Your Niche And Be Specialized With Your Personal Brand

Take time to understand what it is your personal brand represents. Ask yourself what you have to offer others. What skills or special knowledge do you have that could benefit the lives of others. Not only do you need to understand what your personal brand is going to be specializing in, you want to make sure you are going to be able to deliver it. Strive to become an expert in your particular niche. Continue educating yourself and honing your skills so that you constantly have updated value to offer to others.

3. Provide Massive Amounts of Value From Your Personal Brand

Once you understand what your personal brand represents, start adding value. You must make others aware that you are a leader and expert within your area of expertise, and you can do this by adding value to the lives of others. Once you start doing this, you start becoming attractive and will stand out from the crowds.

4. Have A Unique Personal Brand

Don’t feel the need to copy another’s personal brand.  With so many people on the internet, you are going to need a way to stand out from the crowd. The best way to achieve this is to be yourself. You don’t want to be someone else’s brand. Be yourself and be unique.

5. Have A Consistent and Trustworthy Personal Brand

Get your personal brand’s message out there and do not waiver on it. A consistent message and visitor experience will be important factors in order to creating your personal brand. And your consistency will build trust. People welcome honesty and integrity. Do not offer anything you cannot provide. Rather, acknowledge your own fallibility and deliver on your assurances.

6. Take Action to Get Your Personal Brand Out There

You must take massive action to get your personal brand out there.  Individuals are overwhelmed with an array of messages every day. It isn’t just crucial that you simply attempt to stand out from your competitors, but it is incredibly important that you’re not forgotten about.

Discovering your personal passions and building your personal brand around them can lead to a very profitable and lucrative business with dedication and consistency. But when achieved can lead you down a path of freedom and a lifetime of doing what you love everyday…..Your personal brand leads to living a life of purpose and passion!

  13. Hey Staci! How’s it going? great post especially the part about taking action. I think a lot of times thats the part that people forget. They spend all of their time getting ready to get ready. They set up nice sites and do all this stuff, but they forget that that’s really the easy part. They now need to go out and market, and most people just can’t stay focused long enough to ever see results.

    Anyways great stuff : )

  15. Hi Staci,

I really enjoyed the list. For me, #6 is the one that seems the most likely to be the difference between success and failure. The first sentence in #6 is right on the money, from my point of view.

“You must take massive action to get your personal brand out there.”

    Great one.

    Have a great day!
