The old school ways of network marketing are still relevant; however, when you are connected online today, you can reach many targeted prospects by sitting down at your computer, and that value should not be overlooked. Network marketing is notorious for making a list of friends and family and then working your way down that list, that is the way it’s been done for years. But at the same time, did you know that many very successful network marketers are using some of the most cutting edge strategies and marketing methods used throughout the world of business.
When you are new, trying to figure out what type of training is actually going to help you take your business to the next level can seem overwhelming. When you have amazing speakers instructing you that this is the way they have built their businesses and all you need to do is duplicate what they do, sometimes your list of family and friends seems like your only option. But one thing to realize is, markets have changed, the way business is transacted every day has changed. Network marketing is still a business based on relationships; however, people are now building relationships drastically different than in the past. Did you know that 1 out of every 8 couples that got married last year in the United States met through social media? Relationship building has definitely taken a turn, a turn onto the internet.
Let me give you a personal example. In my first network marketing company, I was told to have a meeting at my house, a sort of house party, where I would present my opportunity to my neighbors. Unfortunately, this was something that would not work for me. You see, I have moved a lot and I do not know my neighbors, at least not that well. With today’s technology I easily keep up with my friends from around the world right from my computer and have not had the need to go out and become best friends with my neighbors. So this approach was not going to work in my particular case.
But fortunately for me, I live in the age of technology. I have many more options to build my business in a way that works for me, and so do you. Unfortunately, this may not be the same way that works for your up-line. If you are sponsored by someone who is using traditional network marketing methods, you may need to look into online training.
So first ask yourself, what kind of network marketing training are you looking for. You are most-likely looking for training that works for you and training that produces results. And the best way to receive training that produces results, is to get that training from leaders in the network marketing industry who are getting the results you are looking for.
With 400 million Facebook users, and Twitter logging in 1 billion tweets a day, there is an endless sea of prospects right from your home. All you need to learn is the methods and strategies used by those successfully doing this in the industry and begin to implement them. Imagine if someone searched in Google, and you came up, do you think someone might listen? If you can see the potential here for your business, online network marketing training may be just what you’re looking for.

Network Marketing has taken a HUGE TURN into social media and online marketing the last few years. It is a base to gaining so many more prospects than the old school way of marketing and making your list.
We have the opportunity to reach thousands by the simple click of a button and to create relationships with people across the world. What an amazing door to be open… what a blessing to have this! It is just taking the time to learn the strategies to become successful with it.
I also moved a lot the last few years and do not know my neighbors either. So I benefited greatly from online marketing. This is how I have built my business from day one… truly powerful!

You’re right Staci! There is literally an unlimited amount of people online to talk to. That’s why I always get so mad when people talk about saturation. I mean honestly there are like a million people that search make money from home or something like that per day.
I think that there are enough people for all of us to talk to!

great article. I don’t accept the lack of training anymore as excuse for the high failure rate in our industry. OK, there might be lack of company training, but everybody’s out there on the internet has the opportunity to get any training and any type of information he or she may need, even awesome free generic training – there are plenty of prospects and there is plenty of information. It’s rather lack of self-responsibility.

Great post! I would not even think of attempting network marketing without the use of internet marketing and social media.
I know that many, if not most in this industry are still a bit resistant to the internet, but that is changing very quickly.
It just gives you so much more reach, and there is no denying the ability to build lasting relationships online.
